The story of Joyshire Haven..
It was bought to live the country dream in 2015..
That's where it all started, and now after it was nearly lost, when Hurricane Harvey took most of it away. We have been slowly building it back. We have redesigned it for a more comfortable space and now with an open patio and porch.
Pets are welcome. Fences aren't secure and we have more work to make the fences nice for keeping animals in and out, so have a perimeter collar, lots of space, clean up after them kindly.
You're really just coming here for the very comfortable pond sitting and undisturbed sleep while being serenaded by the frogs and crickets. You'll also enjoy the long walk to the creek where you'll see old cypress trees and their knees.
We love this little place away from it all.
1600 square feet of Barndominium living.
You are welcome to plant a flower or water the garden in the evening.
Would love to have a picture book and journal full of good people as Joyshire Haven becomes a better and better destination for happy, rested, and rejuvenated friends.
An ok patio that is very private and has lots of sunshine from morning till evening.
Quiet stay with dark star filled nights.
Full electric. Nice stove and dishwasher is new as of April 19th.
Nice safe place for a peaceful getaway to live like a Texan slowly restoring their property.
Naturally Alkaline well water. There are filter canisters installed in garage prior to feeding everything.
The well water has been tested and it is around an 8.5 pH naturally with no iron, no hard water, and no chlorine. We prefer not to bleach treat our well water to make it look completely clear as it is less healthy this way. The water has a little tint of color this is minerals. You can filter it out with one of those faucet filters or britta water jugs if you like for drinking. One in fridge for this purpose. The wife uses about a quarter cup of citric acid to mix in the bath water when she baths to lower pH to around a 5 pH for hair and skin care.

You may collect limbs for the BBQ pit or bring some charcoal. Home made pit does well. Or bring firewood.
We do have a steel ring for camp fires as well, you'll need to bring things to light an outdoor fire or the bbq pit. No guarantee that there will be something there.

Please pickup after yourself so the next person coming doesn't have a mess to clean up. The Ants will move in if you leave food out so definitely keep all the crumbs off the floor. Take care of our home so we can keep prices low for others and when you come back.
Wash and dry the bedding and clean up.
Take trash out to the garage and I will have someone pick it up. Share pictures of how you left it and please write in a journal for others and us to read. We do give a full refund for cleaning fees if you can leave it ready for next guest as it was or better!!
